Kusinan Guåhan, Inc.’s mission is to promote, perpetuate and preserve our Chamorro culture for future generations.
We are a locally-owned, restaurant that promotes Chamorro, family-style cooking that has been passed down for nearly three generations by the Cruz family from Asan (familian Ma’anao/Felicia).
James Cruz, Chamorro Chef, is a master at what he does in preserving his family’s traditional recipes of Chamorro-style cooking. At a very young age, Chef James had stood by his beloved mother, Consuelo Ma’anao Cruz, and helped prepare many dishes for the family. Being the youngest of twelve children, Chef James learned that taste and preparing large quantities was essential to feed the entire family. His skills in carrying out the family’s traditional Chamorro-style cooking can be seen in many of Kusinan Guåhan’s buffet menu selections.
Menu favorites includes spicy foods such as kåddon pikan månnok (spicy chicken) made with local peppers and kelaguen (raw or cooked meat seasoned with lemon) made from either fish or chicken. Roasted chicken is also favored by our health-conscious guests. A variety of kåddo (soup) are also popular menu items that are made with either chicken, beef or fish and local vegetables.
Kusinan Guåhan, located in the beautiful village of Mangilao, serves all customers who enjoy the flavor and taste of Chef James’ cooking. Guests can dine in at the restaurant and choose their favorites from a variety of dishes in the restaurant’s buffet-style menu. Local music accompanied by indoor comfort and local hospitality will appeal to those that want to relax and enjoy a family-style atmosphere. Television entertainment is also available with digital cable. A take-out menu is also available to customers. The restaurant is open weekdays for lunch and dinner, Saturday during lunch and Sunday for brunch.
CATERING. If you are planning a meeting or a special party for any occasion, Kusinan Guåhan has the facility that can accommodate up to 80 guests or more. Let us help you plan your special occasion.
Location
We are located at Unit 4-6, 309 Legacy Square Building, Mangilao, Guam.
Driving directions: From the northern part of Guam, enter Marine Corps Drive and then turn into Route 10. Drive until you reach Route 8 or Guam Veteran's Highway and turn in. Our restaurant is less than a minute away from the University of Guam intersection. Our restaurant is in the Legacy Square Building next to Bank of Guam's Mangilao Branch.
